Dan: Good afternoon Al!

Al: Buenos tardes para ti Daniel.

Dan: I see you've been practicing your "Spanish for Gringos"??

This week has been awesome here in soggy but not so soggy Seattle as the Presidential race is heating up.

As we've talked about in the past covering news items, Presidential candidates debate and argue about anything and everything from the super important topics (war in the middle east, economy, jobs) to the incredibly ridiculously stupid such as what drugs each person allegedly did/did not do while in college, their spouses, Cuban relations and how closely your name sounds like Osama Bin laden. 

Although Hilary Clinton is on the way out of the race for all intensive purposes, MSNBC just released an article on the Religious State of the US which closely ties with the religious aspects of the Presidential race.

The article published on msnbc.com essentially states that "mainline Protestant are in the decline, non-denominational churches are gaining and the ranks of the unaffiliated are growing with more than 25% of American adults having left the faith of their childhood for another religion or no religion at all". 

Worldwide, the breakdown of faiths is more fragmented as the US is primarily a Christian nation and thus why a non-Christian President essentially has NO chance of making the cut.

So I ask you Al - knowing that the following of traditional faiths in America are shrinking and that globally there are thousands, if not more, religions in the world - what are your thoughts on religion, how important is it and of course, if you know - which one has it right???

Al: Al figured this subject would come up sooner or later as this subject and question, the ULTIMATE QUESTION has been debated, argued and battled over in the Universe for millions and millions of Earth years therefore it is difficult to cover everything in such short period BUT Al thoroughly enjoys showering all 3 of Dan readers with incredible knowledge.  Let Al start by level setting what the Universe has bottomed out on regarding Religion:

Universal Agreements on Religion:
1. Religion is means to dealing with the unknown, ALL UNKOWNS and for even the most intelligent species in the world - the ULTIMATE UKNOWN - how did EVERYTHING, specifically natural intelligent life get started, what happens after life and what is on the other side of the edge of the Universe??  OK - so it is Ultimate Question(S).

2. The more unknowns a life form has (more stupid), the more important religion is for that life form.  Unfortunately, life forms that are very intelligent AND evil know this and use religion as mechanism for controlling the other group.  Further unfortunate is that 20% or less of any given population represent 80% or more of the most educated individuals - i.e. there are many, many more stupid people than non-stupid people - harsh truth.  For Earth peoples examples see below:
   - Republicans
   - Mayan Religion
   - Education Levels in US Land Territory


3. Despite millions of attempts (see below) - no life form in the Universe has been able to prove or disprove their religious claims - proving or disproving a negative.  This has lead the Universe to decide that each life form can pick whatever religion they want to answer their Ultimate Questions - i.e. we all need to open the can of food.  There is no definitive answer as to which can opener is the best and right one to use, regardless of what Billy Mays may say, so use whatever you want to open your can - it's up to you..... with the exception of these religions - they are just plain retarded. 



Dan: So does religion matter?

Al: Of course!  How else do people deal with their existence?  Earth peoples should not care for the most part, what Religion elected leaders subscribe to, with exception of those noted previously. Religion and Government are like Meat and Loaf - two good things seperately, but horrible combined. Which one Earth peoples and Universe life forms choose doesn't matter for the most part.  99% of the religious faiths of the Universe are all essentially same story with different names, timeframes and locations.  Fragmentation has happened through different interpretations, miscommunications and corruption - For Earth people's examples - see History of Roman Catholic Religion. 

Dan: So which one did you choose?

Al: Mormon's!

Dan: What??  Why??

Al: 2 reasons - 1. Out of all Earth peoples that Dan hates - are any of them practicing Mormons?  2. If each religion were a musical, Al would go to this one more than once.
